Jeff has spent 27 years in financial services and built RU Financially Strong, a program that works directly with athletic departments at Rutgers, Rider, and Rowan to teach players money management before it becomes a problem instead of after. He has heard every version of the story where a guy makes good money overseas for five or six years and has nothing to show for it once the career ends. That is exactly the gap we are trying to close.

This first session covered the fundamentals of financial education for athletes living and earning outside the US, and it is just the beginning. Every other month, Jeff and I will be back with a new topic, from first contract planning to taxes to what retirement actually looks like when your income comes in five different currencies over the course of a career.
