Community Spotlight: Erron Maxey

If you have ever wondered what a long, legendary overseas basketball career looks like when it translates into the next chapter, @Erron Maxey is the blueprint.

Erron played at Providence College where he captained the Friars and led the team in scoring before entering the 2001 NBA Draft. When he went undrafted, he did what the best in this game do. He got on a plane. He started in Argentina with Ferro Carril Oeste and never looked back. From there he played in Finland, the NBA G League, Hungary, Mexico, Chile, China, Colombia, New Zealand, Australia, Taiwan, Uruguay, and beyond. We are talking about a man who played professionally across more than 10 countries over nearly two decades. That is a movement.

In Australia he earned NBL Best Sixth Man honors with the Gold Coast Blaze. In New Zealand he helped the Wellington Saints win back to back championships in 2010 and 2011. In the Queensland Basketball League he averaged over 26 points and 10 rebounds per game and earned All League Team honors. In Uruguay he continued to produce at a high level with Club Atlético Bohemios. Everywhere Erron went, he dominated and he adapted, which is the single most important skill any overseas player can develop.

What makes Erron's story even more valuable to this community is what he built after the game. Erron is now a Branch Manager at Wells Fargo in the Atlanta area. He took the discipline, the communication skills, the cultural intelligence, and the relentless work ethic that come from navigating professional basketball around the world and applied all of it to a career in financial services. And he is thriving.

Here is the part that matters to you directly. Erron is always looking for strong, reliable, coachable people to join his team at Wells Fargo. If you are in the Atlanta area, or even if you are not, reach out to him. Whether you are wrapping up your playing career, transitioning into your next chapter, or just want to talk to someone who understands exactly what this life demands, Erron is an incredible resource and he is accessible.
